The Game Crafter News: Casual Game Insider

Posted: October 11, 2012 in Uncategorized

We met Chris James at GenCon this year and he told us about his cool new project! He wanted to create a magazine and online resource that helped promote casual board (or card) games! The initial funds ($25,000 – nice job!) for the project were generated through a successful Kickstarter campaign and we were pleased to see all of his hard work pay off!

The first issue of Casual Game Insider will be going out this week to over 1,800 game stores and several hundred other recipients. There will also be digital editions (iPad, PDF/web) coming in the near future.

We think that game designers in the TGC community could potentially benefit from Casual Game Insider in 3 ways:

  1. There are several advertising opportunities available in the magazine. This could be a great way for a game designer to get exposure in front of game store owners and retailers across the United States.
  2. If you are publishing your own game, you can submit your casual games for evaluation and possible review and/or inclusion in their Recommended Games list. You need to send 2 copies of each game and a completed submission form
  3. They’re always looking for interesting content to include in the magazine. If you want to submit an article, send a query with a proposed topic to editor@CasualGameRevolution.com.
